"Historical inn with a carriage house, built at the end of the 18th century from hewn stone and brick, plastered, with the main body preceded by a portico supported by two round pillars, covered with shingles." This is how one could describe the oldest inn both in Nowy Targ and on the "Gothic Trail" located at 105 Waksmundzka Street.

"Hey, drink, drink, don't miss Borzanek’s Inn.
Hey, you won't miss Borzanek’s Inn, don't worry, you won't perish"

This is what travelers sang, traveling along the wine and salt route from Hungary from Eger and Tokaj through Niedzica, Czorsztyn, Dębno, Nowy Targ to Wieliczka.

The history of the inn at 105 Waksmundzka Street in Nowy Targ, listed as a historical monument under number 539 Kl.V-115/3/57, has been very turbulent. In 1976, the inn had to be transferred to the State Treasury under the expropriation law. The State Treasury intended to create a regional museum of the Nowy Targ land in this building. The building passed from "hand to hand" and systematically deteriorated. In 1990, due to the lack of any construction works and lack of supervision, the building collapsed. Unable to reconcile with such mismanagement and waste, the previous owner - Michał Borzęcki - applied for the return of the property under the land management law. The reprivatization proceedings ended in July 1992 with a decision by the head of the District Office to return the property.
In December 2003, the first New Year's Eve event took place in the newly built inn called "Karcma u Borzanka." We invite you to visit the website: www.uborzanka.pl
We invite the residents of Nowy Targ and tourists to frequent visits. We will make every effort to keep the centuries-old history of the inn alive, and the specialties served here will be the finest, worthy of the place where they are consumed.

"Hey, Borzanek's name will never fade, neither in the mountains nor in the valley"
